Earlier this month we launched PV-Dust—a research project that aims to understand how Cyprus’s frequent dust storms cut into solar-panel output and to build prediction tools that work across the wider MENA region.

What we’ll do

1. We will measure output from 500+ local PV sites and match it to recorded dust events.
2. Build AI-driven correlation models that show exactly how dust cuts PV yield, then stress-test them on data from the wider MENA region
3. Serve the results on an open, interactive web map so operators anywhere can see risk in real time
